Winds of changes ...2:02 pm
In terms of the contest for the Republican presidential nomination, former Senator Fred Thompson is no doubt correct when he predicts that the “lay of the land will be different in a couple of months than it is today, one way or another.” And YouTube will probably have something to do with it. The old clip of Rudy Giuliani calling for publicly funded abortions is the kind of thing that can change the dynamics of the campaign real quick. Thompson, I notice, said just about all the right things on TV this weekend to appeal to the base, including that Scooter Libby should be pardoned now. And further on that: Jody Bottum in the Weekly Standard has a piece on Libby and on what is looking for some like the unacceptable price of public service in America today.

Addendum 4:42pm: And further: Michael Barone succinctly compares the Libby and the Berger legal travesties (each is a travesty in exactly the opposite way, of-course) and contemplates who gets to write history. (Thanks to Rich for the link.)
